Ask and ye shall receive, especially if you’ve been on Twitter for three years. There are two topics that I always get a massive response on: tech-issues and oddly enough: Great Gym Music. Here’s what the crowd pointed me to this morning.
Earlier today on Twitter I asked folks what tunes I should be downloading onto my iPod for my regular gym visits. A few wanted to see the responses:
| “ | Semi-regular shout out for new gym tunes… What’s on your playlist? |
| “ | @iancapstick NYT has a piece on what the DJs are playing at NY fashion week. News you can use. |
| “ | @iancapstick Have you visited @DJCPI’s site and downloaded any of her mixes (thetastates.com)? Lots of dancy stuff to choose from. |
I received lots of helpful suggestions for bands to audition while lifting weights:
| “ | @iancapstick Holy Moses by @WASHINGTONx. Or anything by @wyntermusic is probably upbeat enough for the gym. |
| “ | @iancapstick Feindflug, Wumpscut, Grendel, Survival Unit, Terrorfakt and Front 242. |
| “ | @iancapstick the Ramones and @theSheepdogs ! |
| “ | @iancapstick if you like angry post-hardcore, Thrice will get you going! |
| “ | @iancapstick Anything Chicane. (not the former Qc band). |
| “ | @iancapstick Skepta - Rollex Sweep and Yelle - A cause des garçons |
And, people chimed in with their favorite songs that get them going…
| “ | @iancapstick When I’m running I’m a big fan of “Best Wishes to Your Black Lung” by Less Than Jake |
| “ | @iancapstick “Mama Said Knock You Out” by LL Cool J helps me pick up the pace every time. |
| “ | @iancapstick Hooray For Earth: True Loves and the new M83 |
| “ | @iancapstick “I Don’t Care” by Jordin. Funny enough that tune can be applied to so many things in life… #KeepItClassy |
| “ | @iancapstick Also: Against Me’s cover of “Bastards of Young” by the Replacements |
